Shoua Lo was born in Xeing Khouang, Laos on August 1, 1972. His family fled Laos during the Vietnam War and immigrated to the US in 1978. For the past 40 years, Shoua and his family have made Stockton their home where he graduated from Tokay High School. Shoua earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from San Jose State University and his Master of Science in Homeland Security and Emergency Management from National University. For the past 19 years, Shoua has worked as a Professional Environmental, Health, and Safety Engineer. He is proud and excited to be the first Hmong-American citizen to run for office in Stockton, CA! In 2020, he was a Mayoral candidate for the City of Stockton. Shoua has served his community over the years as a member on various non-profit community organizations: Lo-Pha Society of California, Bay Area Environmental Safety Group, Stockton Host Lion, Rotary Club of Central Stockton, and the Intercontinental Hmong Arts, Music, and Culture Association.
Shoua is running for Lincoln Unified School Board Trustee Area 1 because Lincoln deserves better! He believes that Lincoln School District is the best school district in Stockton but can even be better through changes and updates to the school curriculum. Shoua's top priorities for Lincoln Unified School District is safety, increase funding for STEM programs, transparency and accountability, and increase in teacher salary.
